  1. Press ⌘-⇧-4 (command-shift-4)
  2. Make a selection of the screen

  2. Press the spacebar
  3. Click on the desired window

  1. Press ⌘-⇧-3 (command-shift-3)

Change the destination folder

By default, screenshot are saved in ~/Desktop/

To change this, run from the terminal:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture location ~/Pictures/
killall SystemUIServer

Timed Screenshots

The Grab Application is able to create timed screenshots.

Grab is located in /Applications/Utilities/Grab.app

Screen Recording

QuickTime Player is able to create screen recordings, select File > New Screen Recording.

QuickTime Player is located in /Applications/QuickTime Player.app
